Wishing on a star,

hoping for a dream come true.

Searching wide and far,

watching for a glimpse of you.

Hello, little light.

You glow in my sky.

You brighten my night.

May I ask why?

Why do you answer so few?

I waited so long for you.

I guess I'll go back,

go back a versus or two.

I wished on a star,

hoped for a dream come true.

I searched wide and far,

but never saw a glimpse of you.

Where is my someone who cares?

Alone in the corner of the dusty old room,

The lights dimmed; the windows nailed shut.

In solitude

In tears

In love and in prayer

I wait for my hero to come.

Neither in sleep nor work nor leisure

Do I find relief from this pain.

The night’s a reminder of the day yet to be,

An omen of suffering shame.

Why?

Why is it me?

Why must ...

Dappled sun and rainbow rays,

Heavy wet drops falling.

Stripes up above.

Blackest skies, clearest rains

And one red woolen hat sweating in summer.

Five of a kind, intertwined,

With another one.

Deep grooves, patterned lines traces your lower lip.

A plot of green, a blot of white and a stretch of blue.

Wait, no red.

Purple people, and green cats

Dancing in my mind.

My layer of knowledge disappears leaving me with my imagination.

Words are read and books in head.
