Wishing on a star,
hoping for a dream come true.
Searching wide and far,
watching for a glimpse of you.
Hello, little light.
You glow in my sky.
You brighten my night.
May I ask why?
Why do you answer so few?
I waited so long for you.
I guess I'll go back,
go back a versus or two.
I wished on a star,

I searched wide and far,
but never saw a glimpse of you.
